The Dogs

An essay I wrote when I was 12

The dog is a domestic animal. It is the first tamed animal.
The dog came from grey wolves in middle east. There are wild dogs too. They live in Africa, Australia and India. The fox belongs to the dog's family.
There are many kinds of dogs like German shepherd, Mastiff,
Grey Hound, Great Den, Rottweiler, Dalmation, Begal, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Chihuahua, Basset Hound, Blood Hound, English Setter, Dachound, Pomaranian, Bearded Collie, Rough Collie...(too much). German Shepherds are used as police dogs. They can be trained to help blind. The Grey Hounds can run fast. They take part in dog races. Rottweiler is a dangerous dog. It can be trained to hunt wild bores. Rhodesian Ridgeback helps lion hunters. Bull terrier and Fox terrier hunts rats and rabbits. Basset Hound also helps hunting. The Great Dens are larger than other kinds. Pomaranian, Bearded Collie,Cocker Spaniel and Poodle are beautiful dogs. They take part in beauty competitions.
Dogs live in kennels. They guard houses and farms. Dogs can
be trained to help blind. They can be trained as police dogs. They can be trained to hunt. The dog is an affectionate friend of the man.

But al these cars run on fuel like petrol. Now we can see electrical and hybrid cars too. A car has engines, steering wheel, gears, wheels, doors, seats...ect. Some cars have V shape engines.

Pockmarks and Verbal Wounds

Once there was a boy who got hot tempered very often.
When he was angry he always spoke abusive and ad words. One day his father gave him some nails and a wooden pad and said "Drive these nails in to this wooden pad when you get angry, using this hammer". Then he drove thirty nails on the first day. In the second day he drove only twenty two nails. Gradually the number of nails driven were less than the previous day. He considered that keeping anger at the bay is more easier than driving nails in to the wooden pad. One day he didn't need to drive any nails. His farther called him and said "Look, my boy, at the pockmarked pad. The surface will never be smooth as it had. A verbal wound will never be healed even if one offers apology after apology. The scar will remain forever like pockmarks on the pad.

Water is our lifeblood

Water is the most precious natural resource of the world. It covers 70% of the earth’s surface. But most of them are oceans and seas. Some are frozen ice caps. Fresh water is only about 3% of the earth’s water.
Water is essential for our life. Water quench the thirst of human as well as animals. We are unable to live without water. Water is useful in various ways. Water is used for cultivations. People grow grains, fruits, vegetables, flower and herbal plants using water. We need water for domestic purposes such as cooking, cleaning and washing. Without water we can’t do any industry. Water helps transportation too. Rain water and ground water helps to maintain forests.
Increasing population and expanding of cities and villages make water ways pollute. People throw garbage into rivers, cannels and lakes. Rapid industrialization makes water polluted with chemicals such as chromium, lead, iron and rust. Using fertilizers, weedicides and insecticides in paddy cultivation pollute underground water resources with various pollutant such as arsenic, urea, ammonia and phosphate. In the other hand people waste water. They open taps and let water run and don’t close it properly. In this way pure water is becoming scares.

The time has come to protect and care for our water resources. We must begin today, tomorrow may be too late. Water is our lifeblood. It is the essence of mankind. So we must conserve and protect water and our future. As children of today we have to face this challenge.
