Friendship

Friendship is a deep bond that binds people with love, trust and understanding. It is a relationship which has respect, loyalty and affection among the friends. Friendship can be between the rich or poor. Good friends enjoy each other’s company. Friends are as important as the family. We can’t live without them. If we don’t have friends we have to be alone.
Friendship is our emotional necessity. We can share our feelings sorrows and happiness with our friends. A friend who supports his friends in his difficulties is a true friend. He is always with his friend whenever he is needed.
Friendship improves patience and kindness. Sometimes there can be disagreements among friends. That is natural. But true friends have patience and they tolerates other’s ideas. Good friends always correct the mistakes, forgives and do not misunderstand their fried.

Healthy eating makes us a healthy person

The nutritious food has main essential nutrients such as carbohydrate, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. If we want to be healthy and strong we should eat a balanced diet. The nutritional food in a balanced diet supplies energy, build and repair body and maintain the heartbeat.
Proteins help us to build, repair and maintain body tissues. Our body use protein to absorb vitamins in food. They are found in milk, cheese, meat, fish, eggs and pulses. Complex carbohydrates are found in fruits, vegetables and grains. Fibre in plant materials helps in digestion and helps to prevent bowel diseases. Green leafy vegetables, fruits and sea foods supply minerals to the body. Strong bones, teeth and healthy hair is the good result of minerals. Vitamin is our disease fighter. We need all these nutrients to maintain our bodies healthy.
We should eat sensibly. Avoid eating high calorie foods such as crisps, fizzy drinks and sweets. Too much sugar and too much fat can also be harmful. It causes obesity and diabetes. If you do not eat a healthy diet you may have lack of concentration, lethargy and behavioural problems.

We should eat foods cooked at home. Homemade food are simple and nourishing. Those food are clean, nutritious and free from artificial flavours. To be a healthy person eat the food made at home.
Importance of TV

The TV was invented by Bared the famous scientist in 1920s. It plays an important role in modern society. There are many ways of getting information in modern world. Among them TV is the most powerful source of obtaining information.
TV is a mass medium for entertainment, advertisement and news. It helps us in many ways. There are many educational channels such as Knowledge TV, Discovery science, Animal planet. It is a rich source of knowledge. We can enjoy many telecasts such as games and sports’ there are various programs such as movies, tele dramas, musical concerts, quiz programs and cartoons.
On the other hand it has many bad effects. Some children take whatever is being shown on TV Such as antisocial activities, murders and robberies. There are some other who neglect their studies and watch TV. As a result of watching TV communication between parents and children has become short and limited. Those children who addicted to TV neglect exercises and suffer with obesity. Poor eyesight and many other problems arise among these children. The habit of reading goes down gradually.

Parents should prevent their children from watching unsuitable programs. They should select programs for their children. I think the problem is not that the TV but the people who watch it without self-control.

Pockmarks and Verbal Wounds

Once there was a boy who got hot tempered very often.
When he was angry he always spoke abusive and ad words. One day his father gave him some nails and a wooden pad and said "Drive these nails in to this wooden pad when you get angry, using this hammer". Then he drove thirty nails on the first day. In the second day he drove only twenty two nails. Gradually the number of nails driven were less than the previous day. He considered that keeping anger at the bay is more easier than driving nails in to the wooden pad. One day he didn't need to drive any nails. His farther called him and said "Look, my boy, at the pockmarked pad. The surface will never be smooth as it had. A verbal wound will never be healed even if one offers apology after apology. The scar will remain forever like pockmarks on the pad.

Water is our lifeblood

Water is the most precious natural resource of the world. It covers 70% of the earth’s surface. But most of them are oceans and seas. Some are frozen ice caps. Fresh water is only about 3% of the earth’s water.
Water is essential for our life. Water quench the thirst of human as well as animals. We are unable to live without water. Water is useful in various ways. Water is used for cultivations. People grow grains, fruits, vegetables, flower and herbal plants using water. We need water for domestic purposes such as cooking, cleaning and washing. Without water we can’t do any industry. Water helps transportation too. Rain water and ground water helps to maintain forests.
Increasing population and expanding of cities and villages make water ways pollute. People throw garbage into rivers, cannels and lakes. Rapid industrialization makes water polluted with chemicals such as chromium, lead, iron and rust. Using fertilizers, weedicides and insecticides in paddy cultivation pollute underground water resources with various pollutant such as arsenic, urea, ammonia and phosphate. In the other hand people waste water. They open taps and let water run and don’t close it properly. In this way pure water is becoming scares.

The time has come to protect and care for our water resources. We must begin today, tomorrow may be too late. Water is our lifeblood. It is the essence of mankind. So we must conserve and protect water and our future. As children of today we have to face this challenge.
